Penfield Symphony Orchestra's "Springtime Celebration" Concert

When: Mon., May 15, 7:30-10 p.m.

The Penfield Symphony Orchestra will present “Springtime Celebration” concert conducted by PSO’s Music Director, Dr. David Harman, the last with Dr. David Harman, who is retiring after 22 years with this orchestra. The concert commences with the first movement of Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F, played by Jo Amish Young Artist Competition Winner, Rebecca Lee. Márquez’s engaging Danzón No. 2 follows, with its enticing Latin rhythms. The popular Brahms’s Academic Festival Overture is next, followed by three last movements of three popular symphonies: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”), and Brahms’s Symphony No. 1.
