Genealogy Club: Researching Your Civil War Ancestors

When: Mon., April 17, 2-3 p.m.

Join us to learn how to determine what family members served in the Civil War. Once identified, the veteran’s service record can be researched to learn the units they served and the battles they fought. The document most helpful for family history is the pension application. Do you believe that your ancestors did NOT serve? Brothers, cousins or other family members may have served and their pension application likely has helpful family info. There is a plethora of Civil War resources available and many will be discussed. Presented by Dennis Hogan.
