JAZZ | Eastman Chamber Jazz with Justin Flynn

by

Saxophonist and flutist Justin Flynn was once a ubiquitous presence on the Rochester jazz scene, leading The Jazz Prophets and playing in myriad groups around town. Now living in Brooklyn, Flynn has not slowed down. He leads a quartet, a quintet, and an octet in addition to the Tower-of-Power-like Heavy Duty Horns. He's also performed in the big bands of Toshiko Akiyoshi, Arturo O'Farrill, and others, and worked with a "Who's Who" of jazz greats including Joe Locke, Randy Brecker, Benny Golson, Marian McPartland, and many more. At Kilbourn Hall, Flynn will join Dave Rivello's Eastman Chamber Jazz to play octet tunes he wrote and arranged.

Eastman Chamber Jazz with Justin Flynn will perform Monday, March 21, at Kilbourn Hall, Eastman School of Music, 26 Gibbs Street. Free. 274-1100; esm.rochester.edu.
