There's no reason to be prudish about it: sex can be a lot of fun, and most people like it. In a celebration of sex- and body-positivity — and letting your kinky flag fly — the Rochester Erotic Arts Festival, this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, will host its annual weekend of performances, workshops, art, and sex ed classes for adults. Along with workshops on everything from erotic dancing, BDSM basics, and fireplay to sex-positive parenting and finding pleasure again after experiencing trauma, the weekend's performers include the horror cabaret troupe Monster Dolls, burlesque company Sirens and Stilettos, and comedy show The Dominatrix of Ditties. A number of the demonstrations and sessions are hands-on (especially important if you buy a new toy at the festival), and there are several mixers and after-parties planned for different communities, including the Erotic Masquerade Ball on Saturday.
The Rochester Erotic Arts Festival takes place Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22, with additional workshops on Sunday, April 23. Radisson Riverside Hotel, 120 East Main Street. 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday; 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. $20 for Friday; $30 on Saturday; $45 for two-day pass.
